Two New Grand Teton
WebCams Added to the WebCam Collection
The American Alpine Club maintains
a Climbers' Ranch at the base of the Grand Tetons, and they have a web cam
view of a portion of their camp, and the Grand Tetons soaring above it. The
Ranch is used as a base camp for climbers who are getting set up and rested to
have another go at scaling the heights. I like the context of this web camera so
much, and its close-up view, that I will place it now at the top of my list. The
Climbers' Ranch is now closed for the season, but the webcam remains operative,
so I am told, so we will be able to watch the snow cover the camp, and the Grand
Tetons themselves as winter approaches and accelerates. (click on image for larger view)
The largest peak in the center of this image is the GRAND
Teton. The peak just to the right of the Grand is Mt. Owen. The peak to the far right is Teewinot
Mountain, and this is an unsually good perspective of that peak which does not stand out very much
in most of the standard views of the Teton Range. The next peak to the left of the Grand is Middle
Teton. It sits back to the west quite a bit. And the peak to the far left is South Teton.
Within the following piece of the National Park Service Map
of the Grand Teton National Park, you can find the location of the Climbers' Ranch, and their webcam,
just to the right of Bradley Lake and Taggart Lake. In relationship to the Ranch, you can see where all
of the major peaks are to the left.
As far as I can tell, given the field of view we see in the
webcam image, the webcam must be operated from Cabin #2. In the webcam image, it looks like the cabin to the left is Ortenburger Cabin
and the cabin to the right is Cabin #7. There is a good YouTube video on this page with interviews of various people participating in the work week prior to the camp
opening. Nice views of the mountains here and there too.
The next web camera that I have just recently
discovered and added to the collection is this view of the entire Grand Teton Range , looking
north from the north end of East Gros Ventre Butte. (click on image for larger view)
To find this on a map, you would go
to the town of Jackson, Wyoming, which nestles up against the southeast side of East Gros
Ventre Butte. At the northern most end of this Butte, there is a road called Grand View, and
this would be the most likely general location of this webcam.
The view from this webcam is similar to that of the
Spring Creek Ranch webcam, also located on the East Gros
Ventre Butte, but the Spring Creek Ranch webcam is located farther south on the
western side, which requires, for it to get a good shot of the Teton Range, that the
image must also capture a portion of the West Gros Ventre Butte (which is a
compositional distraction).
Because this view from the north end of the East Gros
Ventre Butte has an unencumbered view of the Teton Range, without any foreground distractions,
it is of a much better compositional quality, which is further enhanced by the fact that this webcam
image has a four-fold array of clear, meaningful and harmonious compositional components
included therein.
First of course, is the unencumbered view of the
Teton Range marching north. Second is the wide expanse of open ground that the camera
captures, which appears to have no end, giving one the sense of freedom, while drawing the
eye to the north. Third is the fact that, as our eye is drawn along a line that runs almost
due north, the visional flow of this image carries us to the planetary headquarters of the
Great White Brotherhood, i.e. the Ascended Masters, at the Royal Teton Ranch. This line
of sight that connects this camera position, and the Headquarters of Church Universal and
Triumphant, only a degree and a half west of true north, marches close by Eagles Rest Peak
in the distance (which rises over Jackson Lake) and is noted on this captured image.
The fourth important visual element of this image is in the presence of homes in the
foreground, where you have people living there, who have this image out their front
picture window every day. In this respect, the image has the feeling inherent in it,
that we are looking in the direction of home.
Here is a screen capture of a Google Earth map
showing the line of sight between these two points, the webcam at the north end of
East Gros Ventre Butte, and the Headquarters of Church Universal and Triumphant.
The bearing is 358° 22'12", which is just somewhat over a degree and half west of
due north.
(Bearing of 356° 46'01" derived using this Calculator.)
The bearing, then, to the Church Headquarters, being 358° 22'12", would
be 1° 37' 48" (less than a degree and a half) west of due north (360). And that is sighted just a smidgeon to
the right of Eagles Rest Peak, the location of which is noted on the captured web cam image above.
The bearing, to the Heart of the Inner Retreat, being 356° 46'01", would
be 3° 13' 59" (a bit over three degrees) west of due north (360). And that is sighted just a double smidgeon to
the left of Eagles Rest Peak, again, the location of which is noted on the captured web cam image above.
As a final note, both of these webcams have been added to
the Homeward Bound Journal's Grand Teton Web Cam Page.
May you pass every test.

Shakespearean
Meditation on the Importance of
Staying Faithful and Keeping Promises.
The soul is like unto a radio receiver. Music
is one way the receiver is tuned to different frequency bands. A good piece of music
will contain one or more fundamental points of resonance with the domain of moral
absolutes in the heart. When the soul comes into alignment with these points of
resonance, being in a state of flexibility at that precise moment in time, the light
of the heart will flood in. And the soul will know that it has contacted a very
deep and profound dimension of being.
There is nothing more profound than love,
except for the tragedy of losing it.
Promises - by Randy Travis
Compare and contrast a higher definition video of this
same performance on YouTube here,
and two additional live performances by Randy Travis of the same song, first here and second here.
When I first heard Randy Travis sing this song, I fell in
love with it. Yes, it pulled me right into its orbit. And it is definitely one of my all-time favorites
now. Last night, I found someone who performed this song even better than Randy Travis. Yes,
Thank God for YouTube. The performer is Ronnie Cox, and he tells a very interesting story about
the genesis of this song, that's worth listening to all by itself.
Compare the above with this live performance by country music
legend Randy Travis,
and this live performance by the original songwriter Wayne Carson.
This is a simple love song, and deep. In two places it goes
to the heart of the quality of completeness that only twin flames can know, and which all souls
thirst to find again. See if you can pinpoint those two points. And of course, the Montana
framework is especially important.
May you pass every test.

The Value of
Mubarak's Rule is Seen More Cleary in Hindsight
The value of Mubarak's rule is seen more cleary in hindsight
The Egyptian Revolution was a mindless
expression of hatred directed at one man, Hosni Mubarak. A strongman yes, but you need
a strongman to sit atop a pressure cooker of sectarian strife, hot and bubbling just below
the surface.
When Mubarak made the comment that the Egyptian
people were not ready for democracy, he said this from experience. His daily work was
largely in the area of maintaining an iron clad control to keep the lid on this pressure cooker.
And he did a fairly good job at it. But Mubarak has been removed from power. And look
what is coming to the surface.
Yes, the value of Mubarak's rule is seen more
cleary in hindsight. But they are too far down that road to make a course correction now.
The restraints long imposed upon the extremists by
a strong hand have been lifted. The extremism is being expressed more and more. And the
Christians now live in FEAR. Obviously they were better off under Mubarak, as he kept the
mad dog extremists in check.
"Democracy" in a nation like this, where a
substantial portion of the population has no interest in self-governing their base passions,
has only one destination. It is called tyranny.
Because such a large portion of the population has
no interest in governing their base passions, in fact, using their religion as a justification to
express their base passions, you must have a strong military and police control of the
population to keep this extremism in check, and unfortunately the rights of everybody else is
compromised thereby. But that's life in a culture whose emotional foundation is hatred.
Perhaps the Supreme Military Council understands
this all too well, and they are simply playing for time hoping that the bubbling steam of
extremism will vent, and the pot will go back into a simmer mode. But they are mistaken.
Once the first gush of steam is released, the fire underneath is turned up. For the forces that
are behind extremism want to see a full boil. Only a full boil will create the conditions they
desire to take full control. If the Supreme Military Council does not have the will to
forcefully contain it, as did Mubarak, it will overcome them all.
And of course, look at the road ahead. We can see
the next destination, and it is coming up fast, where the Muslim Brotherhood is poised to
take control of the new parliament, and you can be absolutely sure of this, that they will have
no desire to deploy police and military forces to contain their hot-blooded brethren, for in
their own hearts seethe a truly volcanic hatred for Jews and Christians alike.
Of course it is truly fitting that Obama is doing
everything he can to help this process along.

A Very Unusual Sunrise
A Very Unusual Sunrise - National Park Walk No. 008,
Wednesday, September 28, 2011, about 7:30am, on a morning where we had a thick marine layer
in all directions, at a point about half way down the Sycamore
Canyon trail, the clouds break in one spot, and reveal the sun rising over the ridgeline, where we
see the full roundness of the sun, and I think we can see a sun spot on the face of the sun itself,
and then the clouds close back in, and cover up the sun once more. The marine layer remained
uniformly sealed for the remainder of our morning hike. A very unusual sunrise to be sure.
May you pass every test.

South
Pond Audio Diary Page has Been Updated
I have updated the South Pond Audio Diary page to
include the preliminary information for the following South Pond excursions, and National
Park Walks:
The audio diaries document the
giving of the Lighthouse calls, even as the structure of the call matrix is
expanding. And interspersed therein, you will find important commentary.
This is true for both the South Pond Excursions, and the National Park
Walks. The difference being, of course, that there is no South Pond in
the National Park. And it is at the South Pond that we do our South
Pond ritual in preparation for the dramatic events to come that will
unfold there.
May you pass every test.

First Snow on Teton Pass
The first image I loaded for the Teton West
web cam on Thursday, Oct. 6, 2011, showed the first snow of the season on Teton Pass,
plus a pair of pickup trucks, givng the scene a nice ambiance of togetherness. I captured
it and share it for the record.
"O God, my Beloved
Father,my
Beloved Mother,
I Am That I Am, please allow the sacred fire that you have placed within
the fabric of my consciousness to radiate out into the world great beams of
light, to bring hope,
and the promise of God- Victory, to the hearts of your children in every
nation."
