Subject: Lamp Post Knocked Down - Photo Essay - Part 2 - The Rebuilding Process

Dear Sean,

I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to get at least a couple of
photographs of the one man work crew beginning the process of
rebuilding the Lamp Post that was knocked down.

Here is the scene as I came upon it on August 16, 2006. Notice the
tall tree in the background.

Here is a shot somewhat closer.

And here is a shot somewhat closer.

I stopped and talked to the guy who was digging the new hole for the new foundation,  but I didn't
want to seem too pushy, so I did not take a photo of the actual hole he was standing in, one that
would have shown the old foundation to the left, with the old electrical cable sticking out of it.  But
it was a pretty deep hole as you can see.

A couple of days later, I found out that they had gone ahead and poured the new foundation, the
day before, so I did not get a chance to shoot that process.

Coming up on the scene on August 18, 2006, as follows. Notice the construction barrier
over the new foundation hole.

I moved the barrier out of the way to get a better shot.  But of course
I put it back the way I found it when I was done.  The old foundation
and the old cable is under that gray box.

Like I said before, when you come upon the new lamp post, it is like it has always been there,
you would never know that it had been knocked down, and I will send you those photos at some
point.

But as a memento for you, I did collect a piece of the collapsed lamp post, i.e. before the
workers cleaned up the crash site, which was back in August, and I glued it to a nice piece of
polished marble,  really nice, definitely a keepsake for you.  I put that in a box today and shipped
it out to you USPS.   Here is a photo of that.  It even has three felt feet so it won't scratch the top
of any furniture on which you might want to display it.

That is an actual piece of the collapsed lamp post.  Interesting internal structure as you can see.

On the Path of Initiation, one of the most important qualities is patience, along with perseverance.
Eventually the filament in the lamp post will glow with a divine power that shines through the whole
temple, and out into the world.  When you work with your brothers and sisters to rebuild the lamp
post, you will find that out for yourself.

May you pass every test.
