In our series on personal Christhood, I thought some teaching on what Mother and Mark have given as the subtleties on the path may be helpful for all of us as we contemplate going through the initiatons of winter soltice, or perhaps we are already going through them, which will be coming on December 21st.

And as I was looking at the beautiful Christmas decorations in the Court, now we have a beautiful blue wreath and soon we will have our Christmas tree decorated in blue, the blue lights which are preparing for the chalice of the Elohim which we will have at our New Years conference.

So I was thinking about this, and the great light and decorations and the Christmas music, we see them in the stores, and on houses now. And I was thinking what a great gift it is that we have the celebration of Christ's birth on December 24th, because as you know Jesus was born in the Spring. And the days are getting shorter, and the skies are gray and there's the cold and the outlook can become pretty dismal at this time of year. So its wonderful that the Brotherhood has provided a way of joy and expression of love and compassion and service and giving gifts to each other to celebrate the anticipation of the birth of Christ. And of course to transmute the negativity of the shortest day of the year or what can be negative with the lessening of the sun's rays.

So this is what our beloved Advent Season is all about, and as I was thinking about this I was also thinking about the subtleties of Christhood, and sometimes they appear as contradictions, or they could be the yin/yang of the path.

The reward you seek is the reward you get.

Morya has said that the absorption of light and the ability to receive the initiations is limited by your state of being in good and perfect alignment with Mother's heart, and the hearts of the Brotherhood whom she represents. Or your absorption of the light and the ability to receive those initiations is also limited in increments of subtleties of innuendos, disastifactions, and criticisms being further and futher and further out of alignment until it is like two hoses which are not screwed together and the water isn't going to flow through them.

So, it's as simple as that and the reward that you think that you should have which is the reward, the free [three?] spiritual reward, is the reward you don't get when you demand that the community carry you. Now these are Mark's words.

So there are two different explanations of the spiritual reward that we receive. One is the alignment with Mother's heart, and the other is the subtle criticisms that we give that take us out of alignment and therefore we do not receive our just reward

Another subtlety of Christhood is receiving divine intercession when you have been waging a spiritual battle between light and darkness. Morya said, "it is necessary to meet the enemy on his own ground and to battle for the minds's of men, by the use of certain subtleties from a cosmic level." Now what are these subtleties that come from the cosmic level?

Well, we have heard that we must be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. And so sometimes we receive the promptings to hold our tongue and to be at peace and to just listen and observe and not speak at a certain point when we are in the way of the enemy. Morya said, "The present age is one of total warfare wherein the battle between light and darkness continually rages and the valiant know no other rest save that which God gives to the spiritual soldiers who weary in war-worn service to mankind reach a point of near exhaustion." Have you ever felt that you have reached near exhaustion? [silence]. Well, I don't think it probably comes too often, but once in a while it will come I think to all of us.

So Morya continues on, "I do not for one moment intend to imply in this statement that men cannot mount up as on eagle wings and renew their strength. They can do, and have done so again and again, and they shall continue to do so. But there are times in the life of the most devoted when the weight of the cross is indeed a staggering one. Then the divine succor is poured out in an above average measure."

So this divine succor that comes to each one of us is when you receive a blessing, and it could be unexpected, it could be just a renewal of your strength, and the ability to keep going, or even a slight respite from the battle, or the perspective that the enemy is an ant, [57:10] and you are inspired from the cosmic level to know what is the next step that you need to take.

Another subtlety, discernment. "In the connection with solving the problem of misguided humanity", it was pointed out that, "many individuals who are spiritually hungry and thirsty were often being fed misleading material which did not satisfy their souls." [she did not write that sentence.] Beloved Chananda informed us that, "the crux of this problem lay in the lack of discernment which those beginning to understand God's law, often encountered, because of the many signs, and sign bearers, each pointing a different way." He also said that "many of those beginning to understand the truth of life did not yet have their spiritual centers quickened." Therefore, "these individuals could not discern the Lord's Body."

So here is the definition of the Lord's Body. "It is to be able to feel the radiation of the light of the masters in the printed text." That's the discerning of the Lord's Body.

Now we have people who read our books, and who have signed up to be a part of our Holy Orders, and they do not perceive any difference between what we teach, and what somebody from a psychic group also teaches. They think its all the same, and so they mix up in their own smorgousborg of teachings, the ascended masters, and also those with other groups and they merrily go along their way thinking that it's all fine and it's wonderful. But they have not been able to feel the radiation that comes from the printed text of the Master's books.

Now, how many of you have felt that radiation when you've read one of our books? How many of you have actually seen the light pour off the page when open one of those books? [silence] Well, you don't have to answer that .... but anyway ... that's a subtle aspect of Christhood. To feel the radiation, and to see that light, coming from the page as you're reading it.

I remember Mother would describe how she was taught when she was a young girl how to understand the Bible. And she would open it to any place in the Bible and she would read a passage and there would be light on that page and it would be highlighting a passage of the Bible and then she would understand through the radiation that came off of the page what that particular passage meant in terms of the Ascended Masters understanding of a particular quote in the Bible.

Here's another teaching that Mark gave that indicates subtleties of Christhood, I think. He said, "Now what I'm telling you is absolutely contrary to the truth. We do not, and I say it emphatically, we do not put our our attention on more of the dark than we do of the light. But we must be cosmic law teach these principles to people so that they know the subtleties of the powers of darkness. If you don't, the people are going to accept the evil and think that it's good. So you have to teach the law. Naturally the dark forces know this. That's why they have these seemingly good people do these things. Mary Baily of the Arcane School, when she was writing against the Summit one time, said, 'I never speak against any other organization, I am a hundred percent in favor only of our own.' Then she went on in her letter to say, 'I will make an exception in this case, in the matter of the Summit Lighthouse, because they are an organization of mire, glamour, and karma." she said."

And it was so terrible, because to make a statement, I won't say a word against the organization, and then turn around and say, say, this, then, don't you see, that's exactly what these people did. So we have to understand that the worst idea the enemy can use is pointing their finger and saying don't talk about negative things.

This is still Mark, "I remember one woman that I knew, and everytime I'd open my mouth to say anything that wouldn't be absolutely all is God, all is love, all is beauty, why she'd turn around and say, ah ah ah ah, I mean you're talking about negative things again. Watch out."

So there is this Zen statement from our Beloved Mark , our Bodi Dharma, who says, "Well, negative things will change into positive things. Our thinking will change into positivity as we begin to see the subtley of it. This is push, pull. Everyone who is on the spiritual path is pulled by the divine light towards the light. Towards the Mighty I Am Presence. When you understand that evil is an illusion, that becomes the push. In other words, the pull is the natural influence of God, and the push is the natural influence of your will when you begin to understand what is acting in your world."

And St. Germain talked about that also. He talked about understand what is acting in your world. In other words, is God acting, or is the enemy acting. Now, the push is the judgment call. Pushing away the energy veil, the power of God acting in you, through the science of the spoken word. Then you have to realize that God's government is a most personal government. There is the yin and the yang, and good and evil, but neither one mean anything. What you have to come to is the point where you are above the yin and the yang, above the good and the evil, above the sense that we're just talking about good, or we're just talking about evil. Any time you start talking about negativity, and it helps your understanding of God more, so that you can shake the dust from your feet, as far as evil is concerned, and find only good in your life, boom, that's it. See what I mean?

So that's Mark, giving his explanation of why we need to talk about negative things, so we can understand those things that impede us on the path, and we understand more of the positive, this is his words, "the positivity of God.". So this is why we have the exposes [tone of voice] that Mother's given us on the ICCC, the UFO's, the psychic imposters of the ascended masters, and we need to know the ploys of the fallen ones to understand the true positive draw to God, and the negative push away from evil or the energy veil, and to the point where we are beyond the yin and the yang, above duality, and we can say with Mark, "Behold I am everywhere in the Consciousness of God."

There are all steps on the path of personal christhood, these are subtle steps, to understand these very fine distinctions that Mark is pointing out to us.

What we are able to envision, what we are able to see of God, is far more important than anything else, [is she reading Mark's words again?] because we have such a pattern of imperfect images before us, or so we think. Now suspicion can break hearts.

[these are here words?] Remember the great Shakespearean tragedy Lothello? Lothellos married his wonderful twim flame Desdimona, and yet he had a chink in his armor, which was, that there was a little, seed of doubt, and jealousy that was planted by yago, and he kept whispering in his ear, and he kept insinuating more and more things, about what Desimona was doing. So why are the dramas of Shakespeare so important, and so real, and so right? Because the delineation of evil in the characters, like yago, and the human lack of understanding created swift karmic return. And we all saw that in that great drama.

[is shee reading again from Mark?] Suspicion can create openings into which the dark ones will send their swift arrows and shafts. We must understand suspicion then, as truly a memory spiral, [LW: "a memory spiral" ] in which we relate events that have happened in the past to those that may happen in the future. Because they have happened in the past, because there are similarities between these happenings, insanity seizes the mind of people, and they allow their emotions to run the gamut of human feelings.

[L.W. speaking again?] This is exactly what happened to Othello. Insanity seized him. And he couldn't distinguish between reality and unreality. And therefore he played out his karmic drama.

[L.W. is reading again?] What we can contribute to society [tone of voice] to ourselves, to God, and the universe, as divine instruments, is deteriminable only by ourselves, and our ability in envision greatness. Greatness as from God, not viewed from our human levels. Therefore what we might call our gunsights, our aims, our intentions, our motivations, these must be developed by trial and error. When we see we have fallen, let us not be so foolish again. To suddenly say to ourselves, I have fallen, there is no hope, I might as well do more of what I did when I fell, because I will do more, there will be no hope.

[L.W. is still reading?] So hopelessness is a manifestation of the dark ones, that send forth into space, as Mark said, as an itching powder.

[L.W. words? It sounds like she knows what she is talking about here] It's a little powder that causes us to itch. And because we itch ourselves with the sense of hopelessness, hopelessness does not really exist, because God exists, and the structures of Christ, and the structures of reality exist. So why be hopeless?

[L.W is reading again?] Let us instead fill our hearts with the joy and the fire of joy and with the feeling of hope that extends not only too us, but to all the borders of the world.

In the glow and the spirit of Thanksgiving, I hope these Teachings from Mark and Mother, have given all of us, a greater understanding of the path ofpersonal christhood.

[Is she reading again?]Subtlety is like the color of the sunrise. In the aurora of the pink flames that come up from the sun, they mix with the blue, and then the yellow, and it pervades very subtlely the entire sky, until, all of a sudden, the risen sun has come up, and we are in the presence, of our own Mighty I Am Presence, and our Holy Christ Self, the living sun within us.

Let us go forth in this advent season with a new sense of hope, and a new sense of opportunity, to finish up what we need to do at the end of this year, to transmute all of the karmic burdens that we have, and as we continue on, as we prepare for the great new year, of 2005. I ask it in the name of the Christ, Amen.
