The following message was sent out by a church member, on Thursday, November 14, 2002, at 12:44am, PST, in regards to what our decree work ought to be focused on. This church member desires that his name be witheld for privacy reasons. In that case, we will refer to him as George, which is not his real name, though it is a name that has some honorable antecedents. George's message was sent to church leadership, for the purpose of influencing the manner in which organized decree services were to be led in the days to come.

     George argues that decree services ought to focus on what appear to be some very intrusive and freedom limiting provisions of the new homeland security bill that is currently moving through Congress. Because I believe that his conclusions in this regard are grossly in error, I immediately responded with a call to focus on the real issue, which is at the core of all (karma related) liberty-reducing-phenomena that we are experiencing in the current anti-terrorism climate, and that issue is abortion.

     I am reproducing his message here in full, and my response to it, because I believe that it is important that we resist any effort, however sincere, that has the effect of diffusing our awareness of what the core problem really is. The core problem is abortion.

     The Masters have repeatedly pointed out that our vulnerability to terrorism is due to this nations support for legal abortion.

     More than 4000 children were put to death YESTERDAY, while George was wringing his hands over our vanishing freedoms. More than 4000 children were put to death TODAY, while George continued to wring his hands over our vanishing freedoms. More than 4000 children will be put to death TOMORROW, while George continues to wring his hands over our vanishing freedoms. And yes, more than 4000 children will be put to death during every single day, for the remainder of THIS MONTH, THIS YEAR, and YEARS TO COME, while George continues to wring is hands over our vanishing freedoms.

     This phenomena that we are experiencing, in regards to the shrinking ground of freedom in this nation, is predicated not on some sinister plot to steal freedom away from Americans. These measures are being proposed, enacted and implemented by men and women of good will who understand that if terrorism is to be fought, the issue of individual freedom must take a back seat. The FACT of terrorism forces them, with its undeniable logic, which no one can turn back, to reach these conclusions, which are embodied in powerful new laws. The vast majority of Americans will say, "if that is what you must have to fight terrorism, well, we can live with that extra amount of intrusion in our lives." Mark my word. You will see no groundswell of opposition to these measures while the memory of the falling twin towers are still fresh in the minds of the American people. That's simply the way it is. It is one irreversible characteristic of the Nation's returning karma. No amount of hand wringing, or decree work in that particular direction is going to make any of these people change there minds on that subject

     The only way to reverse this trend towards diminishing freedom, is to remove the threat of terrorism. That's the only way. And as the Masters have told us, the threat of terrorism will never vanish, as long as this nation continues to support legal abortion

     The only direct route towards the safeguarding of freedom in this nation, is to safeguard the freedom of the unborn, to safeguard their right to life. Once that is done, our vulnerability to terrorism will vanish, and along with, any predicate for these intrusive laws.

     Think victory, and decree victory, in the war against the abortion beast, and we will have our victory against terrorism. Think victory, and decree victory, in the war against the abortion beast, and we will have a new birth of freedom in this nation. These intrusive laws will vanish like a mist under the penetrating rays of the noon day sun.

     Our decree work should be focused on achieving that victory, over the beast of abortion, and then, everything else will fall into its rightful place, as the Masters have promised.

     But, I cannot believe that there would not be some adverse consequences associated with asking the Ascended Hosts to do something that we know, through our own Christ discrimination, that they will not be able to do. I am not exactly sure what those consequences would be, but I can't see how they could be positive. The least that can be said in this regard, is that such calls waste the time of the Ascended Hosts. And part of the decree energy, rather than being directed at a problem out in the world, will have to be directed at enlightening the mind of the decreer. So, if we come to that condition of enlightenment first, that means that the Ascended Hosts will be able to use a greater measure of the authority that we are giving them to act in the world, to act on real problems out in the world. This may be a fine point, but I think that it is nevertheless an important one. Anything that we can do to increase the effectiveness of our decree work, brings the advent of the Golden Age closer.

     In regards to this statement, "I agree with you that abortion is a terrible evil and should be challenged. It's fortunate that the Church will be having a vigil on abortion early next month. It will certainly help the planet and begin to remove some of the vulnerability America has as a result of our history of the last 30 years in allowing abortions. I think that there is somewhat of a misconception being voiced here.

      In as much as this decree work might open up avenues for previously aborted souls to embody, then it will have some effect in removing " ... some of the vulnerability America has as a result of our history of the last 30 years in allowing abortions." But I don't think that we should be kidding ourselves in regards to this decree work bringing about any kind of major reduction in that vulnerability in the near term. Remember, the vulnerability comes from the fact that from 1973 onward, hundreds, and then very quickly, thousands of children were being murdered in the womb every day in America. Of course, there is every possibility that our decree work can work, and does work, to save a child in the here and now, who would otherwise be aborted. And that's a good thing. And it's a good thing to visualize a band of impenetrable blue lightening around every child in the womb, as we do our Michael decrees every day. But again, we should not kid ourselves into believing that this will significantly reduce, in the near term, the vulnerability of our nation to the returning karma associated with the practice of abortion over 30 years. What will have the greatest impact towards the reduction, and even elimination, of our vulnerability in this regard, is the total elimination of legal abortion in America.

     That means, that the Ascended Hosts, in holding the immaculate concept for the victory over the abortion beast, will hold at the very center of their attention, the adoption of a Human Life Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Therefore, we must conclude, that the Ascended Hierarchy uses the great bulk of our decree work, in setting the stage for the adoption of this Amendment that will eliminate the practice of abortion in America, once and for all.

     I believe that it would be very helpful, if our decree work is to have maximum impact in this regard, that we make it a point to bring about a condition of harmony, in regards to what we hold in our own minds as the immaculate concept for the victory over the abortion beast in America, and what the Ascended Hosts hold in theirs as the immaculate concept for the victory over the abortion beast in America. I believe that such a condition of harmony allows our decree work to have more power. And I believe that there is a predicate in the Teaching of the Ascended Masters that would validate this conclusion.

     And therefore, I would respectfully have to take some issue with your last assertion that, " ... it is not our problem to decide what is ultimately right. All we need to do is to ask God to take command of certain situations, make our calls to the best of our ability, surrender our desires and lesser wills to the greater Will of God -- and see what God will work in the world. As it has been said, man proposes and God disposes."

     I would have to say that in as much as one of the most important, and crucial tests that we face day in and day out on the Path of Initiation, is this ongoing test of dividing the real from the unreal, i.e. making a tangible effort to differentiate between truth and error, that it is our responsibility, and our obligation, that we make our best effort " ... to decide what is ultimately right." The Path of Initiation requires, that to the best of our ability, that we make a determination, within our own minds, as to what constitutes the Will of God, and what does not constitute the Will of God. Our progress on the Path hinges on our success, or non success in this regard. When we make that determination correctly, and we act on it, we advance on the path, i.e. our identity, and our consciousness comes into a greater congruency with the threefold flame in the heart. When we make that determination incorrectly, and we act on that incorrect determination, we take a step backwards, choosing integration with falsehood, rather than with truth, and therefore, our identity becomes less congruent with the fires of divine reality that are emanating forth from the threefold flame in our hearts.

     Though, when it comes to situations where we still have some confusion in our minds, I would have to agree that we are taught to place the final determination into the hands of God, that he will sort it out, and send his angels to do the right thing, whether or not we may understand what the right thing is. In this respect, I will agree with you.

     But in regards to the abortion issue, we are well past that point as a community. There should be no doubt whatsoever, in the minds of any member of this community, that the Ascended Masters hold the abortion issue to be absolutely, and unquestionably the greatest, and the highest priority for action, and that there is a great karma associated with the Nation's indulgence of the pro-abortion mindset over the last 30 years and more, and that our nation is guaranteed to reap that karma (unless the people make an about face, an action that would allow mercy to intervene). Absent this about-face action, it is not a question of if the nation will reap that karma, but only a matter of when. And therefore, as the karma begins to descend, it indicates at best a state of abject ignorance on the part of the members of this community, or at worst a state of abject rebellion against the word of the Masters in this regard, to advocate that we direct our decrees to turning back the symptoms that are associated with returning karma.

     Of course, this abject state of ignorance, or rebellion, as the case might be, against the Master's word, is not necessarily a conscious thing. In many cases it can be traced to the fact that some members of this community are simply absorbing the pro-abortion/pro-choice mindset associated with the mass consciousness. And this is especially the case for anyone who spends any amount of time absorbing the vibrations of the astral plane through various and sundry television shows that pass for entertainment in the popular culture. When a person operates out of that mass consciousness, one is cut off from any tangible sense of how important this issue is to the Masters, and is cut off from the immaculate concept they hold for the victory in this regard, and they are moreover, and as a direct consequence, unaware, of the relationship between the abortion issue, and the terrorist threat that we are currently facing. And they find themselves advocating positions that actually will have the effect of prolonging the survival of the abortion mindset in America, because they are working (unconsciously) against those factors of enlightenment that are actually contained in the returning karma itself.

     And yes, returning karma always has enlightening factors built into it. And if we aren't very careful, we can completely overlook those enlightening factors.

     And we have an example of this in the position that George has taken here.

     As the abortion related karma returns upon America, the effect that it will have upon us, is to reduce the liberty of the people. Remember, that abortion, in essence, denies to the child in the womb, the freedom to live. In other words, abortion completely erases a soul's opportunity to live in freedom. Abortion completely erases a soul's opportunity to take advantage of all the freedom that we enjoy in this country. So, that gift of life and freedom, from the very hand of God, which the American people have so mindlessly allowed to be taken away from more than 40 million souls so far, as the karma for that crime returns upon them, it will have the direct effect of taking away, not simply their own lives, but their own freedom as well.

     Another way to look at it, would be from the standpoint of the power that is being misused. When abortion is made legal in America, what are the people misusing? They are misusing their life opportunity, and they are misusing their freedom. They are using their life, and their freedom, to commit horrendous crimes against the Will of God. God never intended them to use their life and their freedom in this manner. Now, as their karma returns, what is the effect? It will reduce their access to the very power they are misusing. At the sharpest point of return, it will reduce their access to life itself, and around the periphery, it will reduce their access to freedom, slowly, and incrementally, so that the people who will remain will have a chance to understand what is happening, so that they can turn around, and go back in the right direction.

     That is exactly what we are seeing take place. And it is important to understand, that this relationship between the return of our Nation's abortion related karma, and the diminution of the freedom that we enjoy in this nation, is a divinely ordained factor of enlightenment that is contained in the returning karma. This is a major part of the argument that must be set forth, that has the capacity to turn the tide against mass acceptance of the pro-choice, and pro-abortion mindset. It is the great entry point, into the mass mind, for the Master's teaching on abortion, the Master's teaching on reincarnation, and the Master's teaching on karma.

     Certainly, those aligned to the purposes of the false hierarchy will resist this line of divine reasoning to the very end. But, we don't need their agreement in this democracy, and yes this is a democracy.

(Within the long march of history, a Republic, and the representative democracy that it cradles, is clearly Democracy, Version 2.0. Greek democracy was Version 1.0. Our democracy is Version 2.0. The democracy that will exist in this nation upon the advent of the Golden Age, will be Democracy Version 3.0)

     As it stand today, we only need to convince two-thirds of the members of both houses of congress, and only a simple majority of the members of three-quarters of the state legislatures. And as you can see, when it comes to turning a House seat, or a Senate seat around, from pro-choice, to pro-life, you don't need two-thirds of the entire body politic to agree. You only need a simple majority of those in every congressional district and state (when it comes to Senate seats) who are interested in voting. Those who could care less one way or the other, will stay home.

     This is the argument that will turn the tide. Not because I say so, but because it is a factor of enlightenment that is built into the new landscape that the returning karma is creating. And it is folly to indulge a mindset that would advocate decreeing against it.

     On the other hand, perhaps it would be too much, and over the line, to applaud every incremental loss of freedom in America that is traceable to the war on terrorism. Though I am grateful for every one, because for every loss of freedom associated with the threat of terrorism, the case can be made more clearly, more persuasively, that the only way out is to turn back to God, recommit ourselves to his purposes, and the first practical step in that regard, is to stop legal abortion.

     As I have pointed out in my initial response to George, because the logic of survival is so strong, no amount of argument, or decree work, or prayer work, will be able to turn back these incremental encroachments upon our individual freedom. The only question that remains, is whether the students of the Ascended Masters will take advantage of the newly emerging situation, or sit back and do nothing, in terms of the enlightenment of the people, allowing them to remain ignorant of the relationship between abortion and this returning karma embodied in the threat of terrorism, and thereby, hesitate so long in this regard, that the full logic of America's karma will have returned, and freedom will be squeezed out entirely, and the freedom to speak will be gone before the students of the light can find the courage to tell the people the truth.

     Of course, it's fascinating to see, just like so many people are pointing out, and like George has rightfully pointed out, that bureaucratic structures are being put in place, that can be used for the purpose of total control of the population in the future. But the purpose of total control of the population is not the intent of those who are implementing these bureaucratic structures today. They are implementing these structures, because this is what logic and reason dictate are required to catch terrorists, in the here and now, before they can strike.

     But of course, the irony of all of this is, that no amount of human busyness will ever succeed in turning back this returning karma. As the people remain recalcitrant in regards to the mass killing of the innocent in the womb, the level of the returning karma will only increase, and we can already see the future in this regard. Terrorists will eventually get their hands on nuclear weapons, no matter what we do, in human terms to try to stop them, and one day, they will succeed in detonating a nuclear device, and it will probably be in their location of choice, and that would be New York City. The question is, when we reach that point, will America have already been weakened by additional high-impact terrorist attacks? This is possible. And that means that a nuclear detonation in New York City could finally bring the economy of this nation to a standstill. The chaos that will reign at that point, is exactly what the forces of darkness will take advantage of in an attempt to erase forever the history of American democracy and freedom. You say it will never happen? I am saying, that if abortion isn't stopped in America, it is certain to happen.

     We have to understand the ultimate goal of returning karma. In other words, what is the end result that God desires to bring about in the final end, that is, if the people do not turn around? That final end will be to remove from the hands of the people, the power and the opportunity to further misuse the energies of God in the commission of evil deeds. The karma returns slowly at first, so that the people will have a reasonable chance to take their bearings, and make appropriate adjustments. But as those adjustments are not made, a greater dimension of their karma will return, until one day, finally, the full brunt will be felt, and the people's access to further life, freedom, and opportunity, will come to an end. And when that day comes, all the systems will be in place for the total and complete control of the American people. Not because the people who built those systems had that in mind. But because their actions (today, under the threat of terrorism) had to conform to the ultimate logic of that returning karma.

     Therefore, every Ascended Master student should stop worrying about this trend of diminishing freedom in America. You cannot push against this, and hope to stop it. It is being driven by the undeniable predicate of terrorism. The only way to remove the predicate of terrorism, is to stop abortion. And we must take advantage of everything that the Masters have ever taught us, along with the newly emerging shape of the social and political landscape in America which is being shaped by this immense glacier like mass of returning karma, and employ it in one final push, perhaps over a period of years, to convince the American people that the most wise thing that they could possibly do under the circumstances is to stop the practice of legal abortion.

     At this point, the Ascended Masters are not so much interested in making sure Americans have more freedom. What they want Americans to have is more understanding. And where are they going to get that understanding, if it is not from the students of the Ascended Masters? Who else is going to come to the people with the message of returning karma, and with an understanding that will help them to realize cause and effect in this regard? The students of the Ascended Masters are their only hope. And therefore, for a member of this community to remain willfully ignorant of these various dimensions of the abortion issue that we have discussed here, is to self-neutralize oneself from being able to contribute to the all-important debate that is supposed to bring abortion to an end in America.

     Therefore, it is doubly damaging to the purposes of the Ascended Masters to advocate decree priorities throughout the organization that will hinder the students from anchoring within their own minds these all-important considerations.

     The only thing that we can be certain of, in regards to this returning karma, is that there will be a basis for God showing mercy to our nation, only when the American people decide to completely eliminate the practice of abortion.

     Can you imagine the elation in heaven, when instead of looking forward to ministering unto 4000 or more murdered souls on that day, and the next day, and the next day, etc., that when the midnight hour is struck, that those 4000 souls yet live, and when the midnight hour of the next day strikes, that another 4000 souls, who would otherwise have died, yet live, and are guaranteed the right to life on every subsequent day from that point forward? The joy and gratitude of the Heavenly Host will be so great, that multitudes of angels will come forth, and long to bear some part of the karmic burden of the nation, and a more merciful level of karmic release will be worked out, whereby the nation can balance its debt in full, without further cataclysm.

     Because terrorism is one of the most blunt and most unmitigated forms of cataclysm, this is why we can accurately forecast the elimination of the terrorist threat, once the American people decide to finally put a stop to legal abortion, and place within their Constitution, an amendment that will safeguard in law the life of the unborn for all time.
