journal in the course of my daily decree services before this local outpost of the Altar of the
Holy Grail, located in my sanctuary, a converted photographic darkroom in the back of our

 We are prefacing each set of Hail
Marys with the following prayer: "Beloved Mother Mary and Raphael, please help me to come
into alignment with the most fundamental truth in the universe, that God deserves my utmost
respect. Please help me to develop the capacity to extend the utmost respect unto our
Father/Mother God at all times and under all circumstances." 5/5/2001

| Over the course of our 15 minute period
of Helios and Vesta calls, and our 15 minute period of I
Am Light calls, and 27 minutes into our 30 minute period of violet flame calls, we experienced a
very unique quality of awareness that was constant throughout. First, we were able to fairly
consistently hold the victory thoughtform "God deserves my utmost respect," but we never got
beyond the mental exercise. Also, there was no substantial opposition during these periods. Also,
our mind has a quality of brightness to it, but we did not register the qualities that are associated
with the presence of the sacred fire, i.e. until we were 27 minutes into our 30 minute period of
violet flame calls, when these qualities began to register upon our awareness. Preciousness,
blessedness, paradise, peace, freedom, depth, at a level of (3) on the (1-12) scale of s.f.

| This is the 48th consecutive day of the
Linda Healing
Project. Ritual outline: We begin repeating our
Linda Healing Prayer when we get out of bed, "My Beloved God Presence, I Am That I Am,
please allow Linda to feel your precious friendship, your precious love, your precious comfort,
your precious peace, and your precious healing power. Please bestow upon Linda the intelligence
that will enable her to recognize the difference between friend and foe." After dressing we
proceed directly to the kitchen, remove Eight dog biscuits from the jar, and chop them in half to
yield a total of sixteen pieces. Eight for Linda, and eight for Max. We proceed to the sanctuary,
kneel at the altar, explain our goals, and ask for assistance. This includes a request that a squad of
nature spirits and elementals to be assigned to tutor Linda in recognizing the difference between
friend and foe, and sword work to cut Linda free from her fear and all aggressive tendencies. We
depart the sanctuary, taking the white hand bell from the altar, proceed into the garage, ring the
hand bell, open the main garage door, and walk over to the front gate.
We ring the hand bell again, open the gate, say good
morning to Linda and Max.
We pull the two trash barrels
outside of the gate, walk back inside the gate, close the gate, and walk over to the chain link fence.
We feed two biscuits to each dog and give them a pat on the head, in this order, Max, Linda, Max,
Linda. We then open the gate, pull the trash barrels back inside of the gate, close the gate, walk
back over to the fence and give each dog two more biscuits and a pat on the head, in this order,
Max, Linda, Max, Linda.
We then open the gate, pull the
two trash barrels outside of the gate again, walk back inside the gate, close the gate, and walk over
to the chain link fence. We feed two biscuits to each dog and give them a pat on the head, in this
order, Max, Linda, Max, Linda. We then open the gate, pull the trash barrels back inside of the
gate, close the gate, walk back over to the fence and give each dog two more biscuits and a pat on
the head, in this order, Max, Linda, Max, Linda.
That done, I say goodbye, close the gate, ring the hand
bell, walk into the garage and close the garage door. |
This session exhibited some incremental
improvements. Linda did not bark at the ringing of the hand bell inside the garage. Linda did not
bark at the opening of the garage door. Linda did not bark when she saw my head appear over the
top of the gate. Linda did not bark when I rang the hand bell before opening the gate. Linda
begins to bark when I open the gate, and continues barking as I pull the trash barrels outside of the
gate, and until I arrive at the fence. From that point on there was no barking at anything. No
barking at the subsequent moving of the trash barrels and the opening and the closing of the gate.
Today, there were additional amounts of friendliness
manifest with each dog. Max was less pushy, giving Linda more time to stand up and have her
head patted while I gave her her biscuits. On two occasions Linda allowed me to hold her paw
while she stood there and chewed her biscuit. With both dogs we are now making a point to say
"We Love You." I started out with "I Love You", but the "We" seemed more appropriate in as
much as this is a group effort, in as much as we request the presence of many beings of Light to
help hold the balance for the victory of these daily efforts. And besides, I get a sense that the
Masters do have real love for Linda and Max, something that I don't have, and the only way I can
get that love, is to allows theirs to flow through me, allowing me to get familiar with the vibration,
and by and by, at some point down the road, my own heart center should be able to take over.
With Max we are now going to make it a point to take a
hold of his paws and shake them up and down in a playful manner, and then pat him on the head,
before he gets a dog biscuit. This will allow him to associate more contact with the point of getting
the dog biscuit, and this will also help to give Linda the idea that more contact is a good thing.
There was one point during this session when I got the
impression that Max was enjoying being petted. I have never got that impression before. When
Linda stands long enough to have her head petted, I have frequently sensed that she likes that.
Another interesting thing we noticed today was that
Linda showed a very fierce growling side of her nature when Max was trying to wrestle with her.
We can see that when Linda doesn't want to wrestle, she knows how to get Max to back off, and
he did back off. This stood in sharp contrast to the play period a couple of evenings ago when
Linda appeared to be totally submissive.
There was no play period at the end of this ritual. Max
just sat down. And when Max sits down, that's really the end of it, because he is the one that get's
Linda into a play mode.
Max did not get a hold of the sleeve of my sweatshirt at

| This is day #132 of the strength of many
mountains, and #130 of the golden portal of the heart
and the many divine cities revealed therein, and #126 of the many many fires of celebration of the
glory of God, and #91 of the nourishment of God's glory spread abroad across the entire planetary
body, and #82 of the garden paradise of the heart, the place where divine friends meet, where the
word "cherish" describes every relationship, and #61 of the personal closeness of my very own
beloved God Presence, and #53 of my very own beloved God Presence as the presence of
paradise, and #40 of the heart as home, and #24 of the flaming garment of praise and adoration,
encrusted with thousands of jewels of divine perception, and #20 of the sacred presence of our
Father/Mother God throughout all space, and #14 of God as the center of Life, and #7 of God as

During our transcription work, during
those periods when we are waiting for the computer to
complete various tasks, we are affirming our victory thoughtform, "God deserves my utmost
respect," and we are receiving tangible feedback in terms of the sacred fire glow of peace and
freedom and paradise, about at a level of (4) to (5) on the (1-12) scale of s.f. intensity. [c-notes recorded in

This is something that we should have
noted on Thursday evening, May 3, 2001, and that is, that
we have completed the process of updating all footprint files for the year 2000, and the year 2001
with the new design/layout changes, and updated the text formatting in the process. All new
footprint files that we create day by day will use the new template. So that phase of the work is
complete.
But sure enough, when you turn one corner, you
confront a new vista, a new stretch of road comes into view, and you can see where you will be
going for the next month or so, in terms of using our surplus work time. And that is, as far as I
can tell, to implement our idea of placing the prayers spoken in the U.S. House of Representatives,
and the U.S. Senate, into the context of our footprint files beginning on January 1, 2001. We
have already completed the design work for the format, and built a macro to facilitate the process
of adding in those prayers. Now we come to point where we just need to start doing it.
And of course, we are a little bit dismayed because this
will take quite a bit of time to complete, which puts off into the future the day we can say
"finished". The day we say "finished" is the day we upload all of the footprint files to the server,
and send out an email notification message to the community indicating the presence of new
material on the Homeward Bound Journal web site. As of today, the web site looks the same as it
did in the month of December 2000. And because of this, because we have this sense that we are
so far behind, we feel a pressure to get finished fast.
But we have the blueprint for the next step. And that
blueprint is as clear as a diamond shining lake in the high country of the Sierra Nevada. We
cannot ignore it or sidestep it. And as you can see, we are giving my God Presence and the
Masters quite a bit of a wide open opportunity here to impress my awareness with a new vision of
what the next step might be, one that might let us say "finished" earlier that what now seems
possible, but what we get out of this exercise is a clearer vision of the blueprint already given.
So, we must simply chalk up our dismay at not arriving
at the finish line today, as another step in the long journey of anchoring the virtue of patience. We
know where we want to end up, but it is taking a lot more time than I ever imagined to get there.
And I suppose there is a cosmic mirror at work in this, in as much as the Masters and the
Ascended Hosts generally, who have been with the evolutions of this planetary home for millions
of years, have had the vision of victory from the very beginning, but limited by the (misuse of the)
free will of embodied humanity, the progress that was actually made towards the realization of that
victory has been excruciating slow. One must master the holding of the vision of the ultimate
victory, but one mus also learn to remain obedient to the intermediate blueprints that are given
along the way.
Looking our ahead then, after we complete the process
of retrieving, formatting, and inserting all of those congressional prayers into the footprint files,
which we will begin this evening, there are still a couple of substantial items that will need to be
completed before we can say "finished". First, we have quite a list of items in our To-Do List that
we have jotted down in the course of our footprint transcriptions, pointing to places where various
images need to be created, displayed, and links inserted, and a few places where some
extraordinary formatting is required. Second, we need to complete our Good News web page, a
very important project, as this is linked to from every footprint web page, and we need to complete
the Footprint background information web page. Third, we have a lot of indexing work to do, but
I think that we will not try to complete that before we say "finished". That's more of a long term

After listening to a book signing event
at the Cuban National Foundation in Washington D.C. broadcast tonight on C-Span, in which
The Bay of Pigs: An Oral History of Brigade 2506 was discussed at some length, we have
to observe that as a matter of historical hindsight, if John F. Kennedy had not withheld the full
support of the United States during the Bay of Pigs invasion, and if the invasion had succeeded in
overthrowing Castro, which it surely would have done with American support, one thing is
absolutely for certain. There would have been no October Cuban Missile Crisis. Moreover, when
you consider the support for Communist insurgencies that flowed forth from that island nation
over subsequent decades under the dictatorship of Castro, one could also conclude that there
would have been no Communist takeover of Chile. There would have been no Communist
takeover of Nicaragua. There would have been no serious Communist threat to El Salvador.
There would have been no threat of a Communist takeover of Grenada, and looking to Africa,
there would have been no Communist takeover of Angola. But one of the most interesting
possibilities is this, that if America had a win over Communism in Cuba under its belt as it went
into the Vietnam War, allowing America to enter that conflict with an additional dimension of
confidence and national purpose, and without the psychological scar inflicted on the American
people by the frightening specter of nuclear war that loomed over us during the Cuban Missile
Crisis, because that crisis would have never occurred, the mood of the American public would
have been much different when it came to staying the course in Vietnam. America might have
mustered up the moral fortitude to win. The American people would have been able to say to
themselves, "We defeated Communism in Cuba, therefore, we will defeat Communism in
Vietnam." But as we know, the opposite was true. "Communism exists in Cuba, and that is only
90 miles off our shores. Why fight against Communism in Vietnam? Vietnam is 10,000 miles

| Isn't it clear that if John F. Kennedy
clearly understood the danger posed by Communist Cuba, that if he had the foresight to see that
Cuba would be used as a staging area for intermediate range nuclear missiles targeted on American
cities, that he would have thrown everything into the battle for the freedom of Cuba in

| Think about the lesson we learned in
Vietnam. If you are going to commit yourself to a military action, do it with overwhelming force,
and do it to win. The fact that Kennedy made the mistake of giving the go ahead for the Bay of
Pigs invasion, but without committing the resources necessary to win, isn't this an ironic prelude to
the War in Vietnam, where the same mistake was multiplied a thousand fold. 5/5/2001 Sat. |
| We have not been putting much effort into
the work of holding fast to our victory thoughtform, "God deserves my utmost respect," during
this set of (45x) Michaels, mainly because our mind has been revolving the various issues
regarding the fight for freedom. But we have a periphery awareness that tells us that we ought to
be doing that work. At one point we lifted our attention up to our I Am Presence, and the desire
to extend utmost respect unto God seemed to form an automatic foundation under us. Isn't that

| About 3 minutes into our 15 minute set of
violet flame decrees, we are looking through the eyes of Jesus and St. Germain in our quest to
hold fast to the victory thoughtform, "God deserves my utmost respect," and all of a sudden, we
are aware that within the flame of respect is found a profound passion to serve and fulfill the will

| I believe that in our quest to extend utmost
respect unto God, a useful image to have on the altar is the photograph of the Earth taken from the
Moon during the Apollo missions, as a blue spherical jewel set against the blackness of

| During our 20.12, I Ratify the Judgment
of Helios, call matrix, (includes 20.07 Judgment calls (5x), 20.09 Dweller calls (5x), .30 Solar
Ring calls), we were considering the issue of respect unto God, and we achieved a level of
penetration into the flame of respect, where we could say about ourself, while in that context, that
"I exist to honor God." As my mind got a hold of that idea, and tried to express it in different
ways, in order to make an affirmation out of it, we detect the distinct fact that there is something
within us that doesn't like that idea, that is not at home with that idea. Now, we took a break, and
during the break, we pondered this, and we repeated it over and over, "God deserves to be
honored at all times and under all circumstances." we repeat this, we sense the absolute truth of it,
and we are completely comfortable with that. So, then, if God deserves to be honored at all times
and under all circumstances, and we achieve a level of awareness and vigilance that is actually
capable of honoring God at all times and under all circumstances, where then is there a problem in
saying that we exist to honor God? It is that this idea is taking too much of a leap at one time? In
other words, that your untransmuted dweller substance is too directly challenged by that statement?

victory of God's will," we do not sense any internal opposition to this. We are completely
comfortable with that, because we know that God's will represents infinite

| The glow of the sacred fire of peace,
freedom, and paradise appears within the fabric of our awareness at the 3rd eye chakra at a level
of (3) on the (1-12) scale of s.f. intensity, as we say this prayer prior to entering into our (50x)
Cyclopea calls: "Beloved Cyclopea, please help me come into alignment with the most
fundamental and basic truth in the universe, that God deserves my utmost respect. Please help me
to develop the capacity to extend the utmost respect unto our Father/Mother God at all times and

| We were able to fix our attention upon the
flame of honor, i.e. that which allows the soul to honor God, throughout much of this (50x) set of
Cyclopea decrees. It is clear that the flame of honor issues forth from the heart, in as much as the
heart center is highlighted as an energy center as we contemplate our immersion in this flame. To
honor God is to be immersed in one of the most satisfying and fulfilling energy fields, or energy
paradigms. The feed back which the soul receives as it is immersed in the flame of honor, as the
soul feels that honor extend out unto God, strikes the soul in a very deep, profound, and powerful

Right Hand of the Cosmic Virgin call matrix, we observe that the flame of honor
establishes such a wonderful ambiance in us, and all around us. It is very close to the region of

| The Sun is close to 16 degrees Taurus.
The Moon was in Libra when we began this service. But it has transited into Scorpio, or is about
to transit into the sign of Scorpio. Is it 7 or 8 hours difference between GMT and PDT? If the
difference is 8, the transit took place 20 minutes ago. If the difference if 7 hours, the transit will
take place in about 40 minutes. Ok. Checking the time zone chart associated with the Windows
clock [at transcription time] we have to conclude that if it was standard time, the difference would
be 8 hours. Since we "spring forward" an hour for daylight savings time, that would reduce the
difference between GMT and local time to 7 hours. So, 7 hours it is. We will try to remember

found ourself repeating the victory thoughtform when
we woke up from our night's sleep, "God deserves my utmost respect," and we filled all space
with this affirmation from that point on until we arrived in the sanctuary for our Linda Healing

deserves my utmost respect", and we continue repeating this to the point we arrive in the
sanctuary.
After dressing we proceed directly to the kitchen,

That done, I say "Goodbye,
have a nice day", close the gate, ring the hand bell, walk into the garage and close the

There are some changes in our ritual as
noted above in red. The first change has to do with the goal we have set for ourself, and that is to
direct respect unto God at all times and under all circumstances. We are waking with that
thoughtform, and we are repeating and affirming that thoughtform as we proceed through the
initial steps of the Linda Healing Project. This has supplanted the saying of the Linda Healing
Prayer during this part of the ritual. Also, during the actual feeding of the biscuits, we are now
saying "We love you Linda (or Max)" as we interact with the dogs, making a point to remember
that the "we" corresponds to all the beings of Light, which includes my God Presence, whom we
have asked to help us in this ritual. Therefore, we do not use the formal Linda Healing Prayer
during the dog biscuit feeding session.
We began the ritual today later than usual, past noon.
Linda did not bark at the ringing of the hand bell inside the garage, and we rang it for a prolonged
period. Linda did not bark when we opened the garage door. Linda did not bark when we looked
over the top of the gate. She was still inside of her dog house, probably trying to stay in the shade
as it was getting quite warm. Linda did not bark at the ringing of the hand bell at the gate. Linda
did not bark at the opening of the gate. Linda began to bark at the movement of the trash barrels,
and stopped when the biscuit feeding began. Linda did not bark during any of the three
subsequent movement of the trash barrels.
Both dogs were more subdued today, and I am assuming
that this is because of the heat. We continued our practice of grabbing a hold of Max's paws and
playfully shaking them before we give him a dog biscuit. He was better behaved today in
relationship to Linda. Linda was a little slow overall in standing up to take her dog biscuits, but
once she did we got to pet her on the head as usual. During the second biscuit of the last two
biscuit feedings, Linda would not come out of her dog house when it was her turn. We walked
over close to her dog house and waved the biscuit at her, but she wouldn't come out. We walked
back out of sight and then reappeared, and that brought her out to get her biscuit.
There was no play period at the end of this ritual, but
Linda did stand up to be petted for quite a long time and her tail was wagging the whole time.
This was possible because Max walked over and laid down in the shade of the Guava tree over
there by the front gate.
Max grabbed a hold of my sweat shirt one time during
this ritual, and we bopped him on the nose lightly, by a thumb released flicking of the back side of
our middle finger, and he let go. [c-notes

| President Bush's National Security
Advisor, Condalesa Rice, interviewed today on Fox News
Sunday, says that free trade will bring democracy to China. She says that evidence exists to
support this view. She points to Korea, Taiwan, and Chile. In each of these three examples, you
had powerful one party authoritarian regimes that stood against a very real threat of communist
subversion. It took time, in fact decades, to allow these countries to build up the internal strength
necessary to provide a sufficiently strong foundation to survive the political chaos that comes with
the establishment of a true democracy. Free trade with Korea, Taiwan, and Chile, did help bring
about the conditions for the establishment of democracy. This is true. But the comparison of the
situation that obtained in these three countries, to the situation in China is not valid. In all cases, in
South Korea, Taiwan, and Chile, there existed a long term commitment for the establishment of a
true multi-party democracy, yes even on behalf of the military strongman Pinochet. But this
commitment does not exist at all in the Communist leadership in China. What exists in the
Communist Party leadership in China is a long term commitment to maintain totalitarian control
ostensibly for the purpose of ensuring the victory of the Marxist/Leninist socialist ideal, with a
small detour into the realm of capitalist economics, very much like Lenin's New Economic Policy
which allowed free enterprise activity during a period in the early years of the Soviet Union when
there was not a sufficient economic base to support the communist dictatorship. [c-notes recorded in office]

stood amidst what felt like a garden of glory. At about the 15th repetition, the glow of the sacred

| We had several different kinds of thoughts
in regards to this passion of the heart for the victory of God's will. We first observes that this was
not a part of my previous experience. This was something new. Clearly it was a gift from the
Master, another one of those previews of what life is really like when immersed in the flame of
truth. At one point, there was part of me that thought that this was not really "me", in as much as I
have never experienced this before, and I wondered if I should accept it as my own. This part of
me was looking at this manifestation of power as something alien that was being grafted onto my
soul. And there was some sort of resentment there that said, "Hey, shouldn't I be free to develop
my own personality?" But as I thought about this, I could see the full range of what is possible to
a human being, in terms of what we, not wanting to accept God's gifts, can truly call our own, i.e.
about which we can say "mine", and what a menagerie of paltry and medicare possibilities exist
within that region of human selfishness and blindness. No, I can get past this device of the carnal
mind, because I already know what kind of power can erupt from the very fabric of the soul when
it comes face to face with the Glory of God. I have experienced the power of preciousness and
adoration. And this passion of the heart is simply a huge momentum of desire built upon an even
greater foundation of adoration. This level of passion that we have experienced here tonight, is
simply a preview of what we can expect, i.e. what the natural reaction of my soul will be, as we
begin to see the reality of God more clearly. Therefore, I will accept this passion of the heart for

goals, and ask for assistance. This includes a request that a squad of nature spirits and elementals
to be assigned to tutor Linda in recognizing the difference between friend and foe, and sword
work to cut Linda free from her fear and all aggressive tendencies. For the final step of our prayer
work, we give our Linda Healing Prayer three times visualizing her cradled in our arms: "My
Beloved God Presence, I Am That I Am, please allow Linda to feel your precious friendship, your

Linda began barking at the ringing of
the bell inside of the garage, continued barking at the opening of the garage door, opening of the
gate etc.. This was sort of a retrograde development, in as much as over the last couple of days at
least she was not barking at the initial bell etc. But Linda is significantly more willing, and quicker
to come and get her dog biscuit pieces when it is here turn. And Linda did not bark during each of
the three subsequent movement of the trash barrels. After the dog biscuit feeding session was
over, Linda stood up to be petted for an extended period of time. Max was fairly well behaved
today. He did not grab onto the sleeve of my sweatshirt, though there were times he was
obviously
thinking about it. Perhaps the fact that we washed it yesterday could be a factor in his decision not
to grab hold. There could be some lingering taste of laundry detergent that he didn't like. During
the movement of the trash barrels, we were affirming our victory thoughtform, "God deserves my
utmost respect." That struck me as an appropriate focus for our attention during those

On Special Report with Brit Hume, portions of a speech given by President Bush today were
broadcast. Especially pertinent were his remarks on the value of free trade, and especially in
regards to the issue of free trade with Communist China. He reiterated his belief that free trade
gives birth to democracy, and like his National Security Advisor, he said that there were examples
of this, and he cited Korea, and Mexico. We have already responded to Dr. Rice's assertion that
Korea was an example of this. As to Bush's assertion that Mexico is an example of this, we must
note that Mexico is in a different category. As far as I know, one-party control in Mexico was
never shored up on the basis of the threat of Communist subversion. But I think we can say one
thing for sure, and that is, that the ruling party, associated with the original revolution that threw
out the Spanish Colonialists, never had a totalitarian agenda, and always had a commitment to a
truly democratic system when the time was right. That fact makes it an inappropriate indicator of

| In regards to the Bush Administration's
belief that free trade with Communist China will spawn
freedom, we must observe, that, given the fact that the examples of countries they have set forth to
prove the worth of this assertion, specifically, Korea, Taiwan, Chile, and now Mexico, are not
applicable to the situation in China, because none of them give us an idea of how people can
overcome a totalitarian form of government that has control of the military and police forces, led
by people who are determined to hold onto power, through the implementation of complex
systems of control and oppression, which is clear enough evidence that they have no democratic
aspirations whatsoever, and whose position is being made stronger by the wealth and technology
they derive from this free trade, we can only conclude that their assertion has no firmer foundation
than that of a quasi-religious faith in the transforming power of the free enterprise system.
Therefore, we are obligated to ask: What is the basis of this faith? First of all, if their faith is not
founded on the promises of God, then there is no possibility whatsoever that what they desire to
see come about through their free trade policies, will ever come about. But if their faith is founded
on the promises of God, as delivered over the centuries by various prophets, then they are as blind
men leading other blind men over a cliff, because there is no other conclusion possible, that God
will confound them, and refuse to deliver into their hands the victory they seek. For God has
always promised defeat for those who seek the companionship of tyrants for material and
economic gain. God has promised us that those who set moral principle aside in their quest for the
baubles of temporal wealth and power are always required to forfeit their ill gotten gains.
Whatever benefits accrue as a result of this free trade policy with a Communist government,
must be forfeited in the end. Therefore, as God looks ahead to the future, he is not considering
how best to make permanent the gains made through this trade policy, but he is considering how
best to strip the people of those gains. This policy is doomed to failure. God does not support

| The root of this policy is fear. The fear
the rising power that China represents. The idea is to coddle them now, so we can be friends with
them later, so that when they are the next world super power, they won't step on us, and squash us
like a bug. But this perspective misses the fact that only God can create a super power. And God
will have nothing at all to do with empowering a nation that officially denies his existence. So
China, while it remains under the Communist yoke, will never become a world superpower, unless
western capitalists transfer to them the wealth and technology of the free nations that will enable

| What this policy will produce is an
unmitigated disaster for America. It will produce a Chinese Communist Party rolling in wealth,
rolling in technology, giving them the confidence that they can challenge America militarily.
Without a doubt this challenge will come initially over Taiwan. That disaster, even if we prevail,
will cause the loss of tens of thousands of American lives. Therefore, it is not in our interest, or
the interest of the world to do anything to bolster the confidence level of the Chinese Communists.
The best kind of Communist Party is a poverty stricken Communist Party, like the one that existed
in the old Soviet Union. Because of the dismal performance of their centrally planned and
controlled economy, they were never quite sure they could directly challenge the Western Alliance
and get away with it. So they never did. In regards to China, they don't face an alliance, they face
America alone. And they face America with an economy that is growing stronger and stronger
because of the wealth America pours into it through its trade ties. Moreover, the Chinese
population is much larger than that of the United States, 5 times as large, and in a long drawn out
war, they could afford to lose many more people that the United States could afford to lose. This
is another factor that gives them an additional dimension of confidence that the Soviet Union never
had. And that makes the Communist Chinese the more dangerous. 5/7/2001 Mon. |
| Make a simple flyer to hang on store
shelves. Most of these products are made in Communist China. That's the country which
knocked our EP3 surveillance aircraft out of the sky and kept the aircrew prisoner, forcing us to
say that we were "very sorry" for making an emergency landing at one of their airports without
permission. Please do not contribute any more to the wealth and power of these totalitarian thugs
by purchasing products made inside of their totalitarian gulag. And don't forget the fact that the
Chinese Communists invaded and annexed the nation of Tibet. The Communist Chinese are not

| As the President of the United States, the
leader of the free world, stands up and proclaims that free trade with Communist China will
promote democracy, what must be going through the minds of the leaders of the Communist Party
in Beijing? This does not take a Harvard trained psychoanalyst to figure out. When George Bush
says that free trade spawns freedom, the members of the Politburo say, "Oh No it doesn't! Mr.
Bush you are a fool. If we thought that this trade would undermine our power, do you think we
would be allowing it to happen? We are allowing it to happen only because it is making the
Communist Party stronger. This trade is making us stronger both militarily, and in terms of
internal security. Our military forces are growing stronger and more capable of extending our
influence into areas of interest throughout Asia. One day we will be so strong that we will be able
to challenge America, and America will have no choice but to back down. In that day Taiwan will
be ours and there will be nothing America can do about it. Just as importantly, our internal police
forces are growing stronger and more capable of suppressing any and all challenges to our power.
Whenever any democratic movement sprouts up, we will be able to squash it faster than you can

| The point here is, that knowing that this is
the agenda of the United States, the totalitarian thugs in Beijing will be the more vigilant to make
sure that this democracy agenda will never have a chance to show its face in the halls of
Communist Party power. No, not ever. These totalitarian thugs will reap the wealth that trade
produces, but take every active measure necessary to suppress any and all democratic aspirations
that might grow from it. Perhaps President Bush thinks that economic activity is so charged with
democratic vitality that the spirit of liberty will simply rise up like King Kong and sweep aside the
Communist Party. But there is no basis for such a belief. Economic activity, in and of itself, is not
charged with democratic vitality. America has the most prosperous economy in the entire world,
yet less than [n%] of voting age adults bother to register to vote, and of those registered to vote,
less than [n%] bother to go to the polls on election day. A much better case can be made for the
proposition that the more the people become surfeited in material pursuits, the less they are
interested in idealistic pursuits. And this is the more true when it comes to idealistic pursuits that
might cost them their very lives, as pro-democracy demonstrators found out in Tiananmen Square

| Don't you think that the Communist Party
has hundreds, if not thousands, of analysts studying the various ways in which the introduction of
capitalist principles into the Chinese economy could threaten the existence of the Chinese
Communist Party? Who could doubt the fact that these analysts are, as we speak, producing
detailed contingency plans to be implemented by the internal security forces whenever a whiff of

Under the most rudimentary parameters of
Common Sense we can surmise the general outline of the thinking of the Communist Party
leadership: "If President Bush is using this argument to sell this policy to the American people, and
there appears to be support for that viewpoint, then we better study this question, and figure out
what it is about economic activity of the capitalist sort that might have the effect of undermining
the power of the Communist Party. Let's study this question, and come up with a plan to counter
any and all effects in this regard."
Consider this excerpt from this book, The China
Threat: How the People's Republic Targets America, authored by Bill Gertz, the award
winning defense and national security reporter for the Washington Times: "Jiang Zemin, the
Chinese president, announced in May 2000 that the Chinese Communist Party would increase its
control over businesses by installing party "cells" within every enterprise. Party commissars in the
cells were directed to "work hard to unite and educate entrepreneurs to advocate various policies
of the party, run businesses according to law, and protect the employees' interests." (quoted from
page 12). It is reasonable to assume that this announcement by Jiang Zemin was a product of such

revolution, the age of information, as it were, would help sweep Communism out of power in
China. They said that the Communists could not control it, and that they would be overcome by
it. How shortsighted this argument was. We read in a story from the New York Times News
Service, May 6, 2001, by Mark Landler, that to eliminate the possibility that Chinese citizens could
read U.S. newspapers on-line, for example, the New York Times, all they had to do was shut
down the server that allowed this access: "The Chinese government has exercised tighter control
over both domestic and foreign news media in the last few months. Local Internet services that
carry news are under closer scrutiny, while servers that give access to the Web sites of foreign
newspapers, including The New York Times, have been shut down."
