Unless indicated otherwise, the following notes are recorded in my
journal in the course of my daily decree services before this local outpost of the Altar of the
Holy Grail, located in my sanctuary, a converted photographic darkroom in the back of our
garage. The Chart of the

| There is a way of escape, a
way of freedom,
that leads out of the depressing prison house of the carnal mind .... It is the grand staircase of the

There are two types of thought --- one is vertical, the other
horizontal. 9/1/2000

The words vertical/horizontal seem particularly appropriate to me, because they imply a sense
of compartmentalization, i.e. the vertical is not the horizontal and the horizontal is not the vertical.

| The pull of outer
circumstance draws your
thought processes into the horizontal, even when a moment before you were in the

| Thus, outer situations are
optimum for
exposing your weakness in terms of maintaining the
vertical mode of thought. 9/1/2000 | |
| This principle affirms our
original conception
of the fall. The vertical/horizontal paradox exists at all levels. Constant effort must be made to
maintain the proper balance between the two. Some souls simply stopped making the effort to
maintain the balance ... falling into a totally horizontal mode of being ... And therefore we are
returning via the same path by which we departed, i.e. to rebuild your capacity to maintain the

| To enter into the vertical,
your mind must

| What is the proper
geometry? It is the
geometry of previously revealed divine reality. Those
experiences are affirmed, and that is the point of transition or your personal interface with the

| But one does not enter the
vertical on one's
own power. The power of God responds when
you invoke the interface, and you suddenly find yourself set free from the suffocation and anxiety
of the horizontal, and lifted into the updraft of God's response, which is an immersion in the

| Why allow any amount of
contention within

| Starting with the all too
common propensity to
indulge contention, what then would replace
it? God's power of course. Is there any other workable solution? 9/1/2000 | |
| If you are persistant and keep
at it, your daily

| I would like to say that this
is guarenteed. But
it is only guarenteed if you never quit making a
sincere and ongoing effort to bring all facets of your outer life into alignment with your own divine

| The purpose of life and the
challenges we face
are to be understood within this context --- the restoration of the balance between the vertical and

| And this process can only
start from the
condition of horizontal imbalance --- developing the will, the desire, the skills to forge a renewed
contact with the divine against the pull of the horizontal world. 9/1/2000 |
| Another indicator of the
insufficiency of
Christian Dogma, which completely overlooks the
challenge and the requirement of self-mastery in this respect that is before every child of

| Remember, the Christ Mind
comes in
different sizes --- as one star differth from another in the brightness of its glory. It starts out as a
spark and grows into a star as the spark is nurtured. 9/1/2000 |
| What is glory? Glory is the
knowledge of
God's love. It cannot be, by definition, anything
else. The intensity of glory that any Son or Daughter of God attains to, is proportional to the
breadth and depth of that soul's realization of God's love for that soul

| What then is the first sign of
the appearance
of the Christ Mind? Look for it upon the transition from the horizontal to the vertical. Whenever
you are immersed in the power of the vertical, you are residing within the Christ Mind. Why?
The Christ Mind is defined as God-Consciousness, i.e. an awareness of God, an awareness of

| When attempting to follow
the admonition to
banish all contention from the precinct of the
mind, consider as an alternative to any point of contention, the fact of God's infinite love for you
personally, for in the love is the desire of God to give you all wisdom. 9/2/2000 | |
| It follows then that your level
of wisdom
cannot exceed the depth and breadth of your integration and assimilation of God's infinite love for

| It is too obvious though that
people fill their
intellects with knowledge, and call that wisdom,
when there is not a drop of wisdom there at all. Fountains of knowledge masquerade as fountains
of wisdom. That is the nature of the material world and its rebellious

| If one of the primary
objectives of the path is
to overcome fear, and it is, how will you ever know if you have overcome fear, if you do not face
circumstances that tempt you to retreat into the age old habit patterns of fear? 9/2/2000 |
| The normal progression of
life for a human
being on planet earth is a series of expanding compartments, one giving way to the next, as the
aspiring soul advances on the path. Don't be fooled into adopting the erroneous idea, prevelant
among Christian Theologians, that the current compartment is all that there is. This idea causes
the walls of the current compartment to become stronger than steel, defeating the natural process
of disintegration, and the consequent expansion of the awareness into the space of the next
compartment beyond. In other words, while accepting and rejoicing in the fact that Jesus is who
Jesus is, a master of unfathomable divine dimensions, Christian dogma stunts the growth of the
soul. Even so, as the master might desires to harvest a bushel basket of fully bloomed roses, the
earthly leaders of organized Christianity deliver into his hands, far too many dried and shrunken
buds that have long since been sucked dry by the swarming aphids of spiritual doubt, fear and
disbelief in their own potential as sons and daughters of God. 9/3/2000 | |
| Inside the flame of trust, fear
is not known.
The Ascended Masters live in this absolute and
immutable reality, and yes, they can, and they do share it with their students. That is how their
students aquire the desire to live within that flame themselves. 9/8/2000 |
| This explains the need for
life in the physical
octave --- At some point you have to take to
heart this question: "why allow any contention within the precinct of the mind?". Man fell from
grace because he stopped making the effort to eschew contention within the province of the mind,
and he must return to grace by the same route by which he departed. Every temptation to indulge
contention within the province of the mind must be defeated. And therefore, to be beset by
temptation in this regard, which is to be beset by your own past habit patterns in this regard, is not
a possibility in heavenly octaves. In heavenly octaves these momentums are sealed, giving the soul

| God's infinite love for you
personally does
not relieve you of your responsibilities, quite to the contrary. That love enfires the soul with a
greater sense of duty towards the outpicturing of God's purpose and plan. In other words, that

teaching a person
about sex while stubbornly denying the reality and value of the orgasm ... i.e. pleasure up to a
point ... i.e. spirituality up to a point ... i.e. fulfilling God's plan up to a point beyond which they

While every Child of God has a duty, responsibility and an
obligation before God to out
picture one's highest conceptualization of live in all behavior, it is at the very same time true that
there is a higher priority, and that is, coming into a full acceptance and realization of God's infinite
love for you personally, to both realize God's friendship, and to become God's friend once again,
and to live within the unquenchable effulgence of affection for that divine one. 9/13/2000

each personally
responsible for pursuing an ever higher conceptualization of love, the highest conceptualization
giving way to the fire of constant experience of God's infinite love for you personally. Only in

| The concept of the hermetic
seal is essential to grasp,
especially when it comes to the role of the mediator. To keep human pollution contained, an
absolutely impenetrable hermetic seal is set up between the physical octave and the etheric octave.
For the Master to give a spiritual experience to the student, the seal is extended downward into the
human energy systems of the student, while the soul consciousness is raised above the seal into
that particular dimension of divine reality the Master has prepared for the

authority to set

Every moment before the altar, and every syllable of every
word of every call, is nothing less

| The idea that one will
spend eternity in
heaven without first developing an appetite for heavenly things is absurd. What does God do with
your worldly appetites, i.e. your free will choice to ignore God over the entire span of any
particular day? What does he do with those fibers of your own self-created identity? If God could
simply take them away from you, he would have done it a long time ago, thereby eliminating the
cause of all your suffering. If he can't and he won't do it now, what makes you believe that the
event of death will make any difference in that regard? You are responsible for your own state of
mind. The only way you will ever spend eternity in heaven is to make the effort to clean up your
own state of mind, and make the effort to direct your attention to heavenly

The teachings of Jesus Christ, as they are found in the Bible,
are of enormous value. But that
value cannot be fully harvested until those who profess to be his disciples cast away these
contradictions which serve only as excuses for spiritual failure. 9/18/2000 |
| We can't think of everything
at once. This
fact requires conscious effort to prioritize thought, i.e. use your mind to think of the most
important things first. And when it comes to the mastery of love, where else to look first than to
the love that created our soul, the love that gave us life, the love that sustains this life, the love that
directs us along the path of self-mastery, the love that lifts us step by step up the mountain of
attainment. The love that God extends to each one of us on a personal basis, this is the first place

| It is not enough to simply
accept the thought
intellectually. It is not enough to have experienced it yourself, but to have it reside in memory
only. The only acceptable goal is to live within the constant realization of it. This realization is the

| Why spend even a second
wondering whether
the Ascended Masters are real? If God's love is real, the Ascended Masters have to be real, for the
greatest priority of God's love is to fulfill the desire of those live in that love (the Masters), to help
those who have fallen away from it, to re-discover it, and to enter in. 9/19/2000

| Some believe that Jesus
Christ is the only
heavenly creature that lives in God's Love, and the only heavenly creature who has the desire to
help others find that love. But this is not so. There are numberless numbers of sons and
daughters of God who live in the ascended state. Would God deny to these a role in bringing
humanity back into the realization of the love they know so well? 9/19/2000 | |
| If spontaneous prayer is
lawful at football
games, spontaneous prayer is lawful in public school classrooms. The only consideration being
proper order, a consideration that applies to both venues. If the representatives of the state simply
step aside, postponing the beginning of the game to accommodate the desire of the people to pray,
why can't teachers do the same each morning in every classroom in America? 9/19/2000 |
| Free will encompasses the
freedom to think
any
thoughts you like, to use your mind in the manner you deem most appropriate. If you haven't
noticed, God does not interfere with your freewill in this regard. Therefore, if you have deeply
ingrained habit patterns of ignoring God, this represents your choice of priority, one choice layered
upon the other over many lifetimes. These choices must be undone. Accepting Jesus Christ as
your Lord and Savior will not undo these habit patterns. I think everyone who believes that they
are "saved" upon an objective evaluation of their thought processes, would have to agree with me.
So, if Jesus Christ is not going to do it for you, who is going to do it for? No one is going to do it
for you. This you have to do yourself. Every time you find yourself with your back towards God,
only you can recognize that fact, and only you can do something about it. You must decide to

| If you leave this life with that
posture, death
will not fix it. And you can be sure that God will not allow you to live for eternity with your back
squarely in his face. He will send you back into yet another earthly life to work on correcting that

| Is the love of Jesus Christ
so shallow, that
given
the job of planetary savior, he would deny to his heavenly brothers and sisters the opportunity to
play important roles in the redemption of man? Is Jesus Christ so selfish that he would draw to
himself all the satisfaction associated with lifting souls back into the arms of

| The idea seems the more
absurd when Jesus
Christ is on record calling many among humanity to leave their nets and take up the word of the
cross. What applies to imperfect human beings, i.e. us, ought to apply even more so to his
heavenly brothers and sisters who have so much more to give, being fully within the power of

| The love that is closest to
you is the love that
God extends to you personally. Abstractions will not suffice. Drink from the spring that is within
your immediate grasp.

| What is it but lack of faith,
and fear that God
will not give to them the power and the resources to right every wrong, to balance every debt, that
compels them to deny the law of karma, and cling to the illusion that Jesus Christ has cleaned up
their mess. Well I tell you for a truth, that condition of the world itself proves that Jesus Christ has

| They are desperate to teach
their children the
obvious obligation of every member of society to clean up their own mess. But they turn to Jesus
and say, "I believe that you will clean up my mess. I believe that your blood has wiped away all
the messes I have ever made. Now that's a good deal." 9/19/2000 | |
| I want each parent to
consider, as they are
immersed in the great drama of teaching their children to clean up their own mess, a long process
for some I will admit, that does not really end until the children leave home, what Jesus must think
of this vein of hypocrisy that runs through the very foundation of their spiritual beliefs, that they
can believe so sincerely on the one hand, that they must teach their children to clean up their own
mess, that the character of their children really does hinge on their success in this regard, and on
the other hand, and at the very same time, believe so desperately that they have no responsibility
whatsoever in cleaning up the various messes they have made throughout their own lifetime, in
terms of the emotional, mental, and sometimes physical harm inflicted on other parts of life, that in
fact, it is Jesus Christ who carries the broom, and plays the role of their own personal maid or

allowed to get away from cleaning up the messes they make, especially when one of their oil

| Forgiveness and
accountability are two

| The flame of forgiveness
says that you are
welcome to re-enter the path of accountability, that you will be allowed to walk that path back to
the heart of God, drawing from your communion along the way, the knowledge and resources
required to go back and clean up your own mess. And you know, when you arrive, because you
have been so successful at cleaning up your own mess, that you will arrive clean and therefore be

| Their only conception of
love seems to be that
which equates with the relief they feel when they think they have been set free from all
responsibility. God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, etc. etc. Freeing our
own children from all sense of responsibility would go against every grain of good sense that we
have. Why would God our Father believe that to free us from all responsibility would be a good
thing? The answer is obvious. He does not think that it is a good thing. His children, like our
children, must learn to shoulder responsibility. This is not a great burden when the power to meet
every responsibility comes from the infinite storehouse of God's Light and

| Is there any one of us that
can say they can
extend a level of gratitude and appreciation on a moment by moment basis, that is appropriately
intense and appropriately constant, in light of God constant, unceasing and never ending extension
of love to us? Who is there that can say that an improvement is this regard is not in order?

lot to do with the
desire to uphold the principles of God which can be read from the contours of his heart and

| I would propose that the
flame of Divine
Honor is an expression of the water trine perfectly balanced. We see the component of
illumination on the 2 o'clock Pisces line, a component of vision on the 10 o'clock Scorpio line, and
of course the component of desire on the 6 o'clock Cancer line, a desire so powerful that it sets the

| Actually, now that I think of
it, I remember
having a vision a very long time ago that illustrated the nature of that flame. During the "John the
Beloved" seminar following the summer conference at Camelot 1982, we were seated in the
Summit University Classroom listening to a dictation by Omega. During the course of that
dictation I was given a vision of myself as a knight, sword in scabbard hanging from my belt,
kneeling in the deepest awe and adoration before the mother flame. Adoration really is at the heart

| The heart chakra, plotted on
the 3/9 axis of
the clock, brings to the fore the fact that perfect balance on all four of the cardinal points, 3, 6, 9,
12, must support this, and perfect balance along the lines of the 1, 4, 7, 10, axis must support that,
and perfect balance along the lines of 2, 5, 8, 11, is the result, i.e. the victory of the

| In hindsight, I think I can
say that it is
conceivable that one's progress on the path can be accelerated if, at the earliest possible
opportunity, you take the points of divine reality the masters have revealed to you personally, and
incorporate them into your daily devotions in the form of affirmations. 9/20/2000 | |
| Don't wait a week, a month,
or a year, or
more to begin making this effort. The day you are given a point of divine reality, write it down in
your journal. Then reword it in the form of an affirmation, and speak that affirmation at least 3

| When the Master gives a
particular point of
divine knowledge or insight to a student, that experience is embedded in the etheric body as an
eternal jewel of assistance. Its sort of like a hand hold on the cliff face just above you. When you
reach up and grab hold of it, you can raise your whole being, in terms of vibration and awareness.

| I believe that revelation of
respect of
yesterday proves your point about the practice of conceptualizing the Holy Christ Self as a
separate entity, as a separate center of freewill, amounting to no more than in intermediate
abstraction, which must eventually give way to the reality of union. Clearly, the Holy Christ Self is
a symbol of the souls past glory, all of which the soul must put on, and not worship as a separate

| The human mind is like one
vast parking lot
with cars so crammed and packed into it that there is in most cases no possibility of movement.
But where there is room for movement, the open space becomes a demolition derby. One vehicle
must become divine, it begins to glow, and it begins to rise above the suffocating clouds of smog
produced by a millions idling engines, and an onramp appears before it, slantly gently upward
leading onto the freeway of the Mind of God.

measured by the
progress the student makes in re-directing attention, from a variety of human distractions, to the
reality of God's Love, and of course in the fulfilling of the blueprint of the mission that is

| The level of love realized
cannot exceed the
amount of the mission assimilated and out pictured. 9/25/2000 |
| This is why those who
believe that Jesus is the
only Son of God, and deny to themselves an equivalent potential, have cut themselves off from
any greater realization of God's Love. This is because the goal God has for everyone of his
children, a goal that is encapsulated in every photon of love that God extends to each one of his
children, is for each child to reclaim the full stature of the Christhood they once knew. If they
refuse to make progress on this front, they deny to themselves the opportunity of knowing God's
Love, i.e. making progress in terms of anchoring an awareness of God's Love during more and
more of each day, until each day is filled from the moment they get up, to the moment they fall
asleep, with an uninterrupted realization of God's Love and respect for them personally.

| Those who believe they are
"saved" need only
make an objective evaluation of the amount of time during each day that they stand in awe of
God's love and respect for them personally. Clearly, they are not making progress in this regard,
and the reason they are not making progress in this regard, is because they have been taught to
deny God's overall plan for them personally. This false ceiling must be torn down.

| Jesus is not the only Son of
God. Heaven is
filled with Beings of Light whose stature far exceeds that of Jesus Christ. Not to minimize his
mission on earth, or the relevance of his legacy for the people of earth. But truth requires a
balanced perspective. God expects each one of us to take our place among them as co-equals,
recognizing that one star differeth from another in terms of the breadth, depth, and intensity of
God's Reality that particular soul has mastered. 9/25/2000 | |
| If you have any doubt about
what I am saying
here, just compare and contrast the amount of time you spend in awe of God love for you
personally on a daily basis within the last week, to the amount of time you spent in awe of God
love for you personally a year ago, or two years ago, or five years ago, etc. Obviously for those
who are leaning on the false implications associated with the concept of being "saved", there is not
much difference. Which means that you are maintaining a barrier between yourself and God that
does not allow you to make progress on the central point. 9/25/2000 |
| Progress can be broken
down into four
general categories. 1) General devotional time, including the quality of constancy, is the first sign
of progress, the first sign that you are actually assimilating God's will. 2) The amount of time you
spend considering revelations that you have received in the context of your devotions. If you
make the effort to establish an upward flow, there is always a return current that becomes more
tangible as time goes on. 3) The amount of time you spend affirming those revelations. 4) The
amount of time spent in actual awareness of God's love and respect. 9/25/2000 | |
| In St. Germain's decree,
"The Flame of
Freedom Speaks", decree 7.26 in our decree books, one line reads, "I will have the glory of my
immaculate divinely conceived self manifesting within me." What does that mean? The core atom
of that "immaculate divinely conceived self" is the soul's 100% acceptance and realization of God's
infinite love for that soul personally. Everything else is built around that. If you want to merge
with your "Holy Christ Self", them you must achieve complete and total fusion with that forcefield
of awareness and acceptance of God's infinite love for you personally. 9/25/2000 |
| The carnal mind is
composed of a vast
network of behavior patterns that reject this love. While the soul is immersed in these behavior
patterns, the soul is cut off from any awareness of this love. the only way to set the soul free from
these behavior patterns, and this is the essence of freedom --- to be free to know God Love --- is
to use the Violet Flame to dismantle them. That's what the Violet Flame is

| Its interesting to observe in
how many ways our
hopes and dreams are tied to so many outer things and circumstances, when all of our hopes and
dreams ought to be, of a right, uniformly arrayed around the sun center of God infinite love for

over the stretch of
eternity springs forth from his ever increasing capacity to accept God's infinite love for him

| Accepting that love produces
the first harmonic
of appreciation and gratitude, a vibration the aura should never be without. 9/25/2000 |
| I know many students of
the Ascended
Masters share my conclusion that to be immersed in the Flame of Gratitude is the most precious
place to be, and that we have spent too long searching for a way to stay in that flame. Look no
farther. Accepting God's infinite love for you personally, moment by moment, is the way to stay

self, how can one claim an affinity to the divine, when the central feature of divinity is the capacity

meaning to the
line in Ascended Master Kuthumi's "I Am Light" decree that says, "I am an outpost of the divine."
Just as a strong fortress walls are an integral part of any wilderness outpost, our realization of

form of divine

parent is required for
the child to take on the attributes of the parent. I am speaking of our divine parents. God our

| And it is clearly evident that
the diffusion of
